The Chronicles of Narnia - discuss it

With Prince Caspian opening this week, can't thing of a better time to discuss the C.S. Lewis written books that inspired the movie.

Have you read them? If so, which ones? Which ones did you like best?

Discuss the books below.

I got the entire series on one volume last Christmas and still haven't read it.

I read it as a kid and loved it.

Bought it a few months ago and reread it and was less impressed. I think the first three books are really good, but after that it gets less interesting. Heck, I don't even remember any of the other books and I read them not that long ago. Voyage of the Dawn Treader is by far the best.

I read them all just before the first movie came out. I thought they were actually kind of lame - I'm not a fan and I don't get the fandom that surrounds these books.

I read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe many, many moons ago. So long ago that I don't remember how I felt about it, which probably means I was less than impressed.

Well, the thing with them, moreso than say Lord of the Rings or I suppose even Harry Potter is that they are VERY much intended for YOUNG readers.

The Hobbit is intended for young readers too, but it's written in a way adults can also enjoy it. LOTR is intended mainly for adult readers though young adults like it too... and so on.

But Narnia really is specifically written for the Young Adult section. If you never read it as a kid, I think it can definitely be hard to enjoy as an adult.

A picked up "Chronicles of Narnia" at the bookstore last weekend. Somehow I missed reading this when I was a young kid - so I plan on starting this as soon as I finish reading "Blindness".
