Spike Unveils 'John Henson Project'

Quote:
John Henson has resurfaced, finding a new home on Spike TV.
Recent months have provided a reflective opportunity to take stock of the whereabouts of all of our favorite hosts of E!'s "Talk Soup." Aisha Tyler and Greg Kinnear have been spotted on NBC's "Friends," while Hal Sparks was one of the most reliable talking heads of VH1's "I Love the 80s Strikes Back."

John Henson and his trademark white patch of hair have been conspicuously absent.

Fortunately, Henson will return to cable in January when Spike TV premieres "The John Henson Project." The weekly half-hour series will stick to Spike TV's mission statement of examining all things manly. The show, which will premiere on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 10 p.m. ET will include commentary, sketches and regular segments.
"John Henson brings a fresh, creative voice to Spike TV," says Spike TV President Albie Hecht. "His humor is topical, progressive and he'll address what guys are really talking about in barbershops, ballgames and locker rooms across the country."

Several semi-regular bits are already in place. "Can I Kick His Ass?" finds Henson musing on which celebrities he could probably beat up (Clay Aiken) and which celebrities may require a bit more restraint (Suge Knight). In "What Were They Thinking?," Henson will look at events from the world and he will inquire as to what the people in question were thinking.

Henson completed his gig hosting "Talk Soup" in 1999. Since then, he has had a difficult time successfully launching new projects. Amidst cameos in films like "Meet Wally Sparks" and "Life Without Dick," Henson has been close to returning to air in an ABC late-night talk show, as well as on a comedy series, also at ABC.

Hobbit, you watched Talk Soup right? He was the host after Greg Kinnear. He had that white patch on his head. Pretty funny guy.
