Band of Brothers

The HBO World War II Mini-series produced by Tom Hanks & Stephen Speilberg. I just picked up the box set of this last weekend. I saw this when it aired in 2001, and it frickin' blew my mind! For those who've seen it, know it. Those who haven't, I suggest you do. It made me fall in love with television all over again.

I read this today:

Quote:
History Channel Gets the 'Band' Back Together

HBO has sold rights to its Emmy-winning "Band of Brothers" to the History Channel, ensuring its exposure to a wider audience.
The History Channel plans to air the 10-hour miniseries in the spring, leading up to the 60th anniversary of D-Day on June 6. Premiere dates will be announced later.

"I can't imagine a better network for 'Band of Brothers,'" says Scott Carlin, head of domestic distribution for HBO. "The History Channel possesses the same values of historical accuracy that can be witnessed in this monumental production. ... It is comforting to see 'Band of Brothers' land in such respectful hands."

The miniseries, based on the book of the same name by Stephen Ambrose, tells the story of Easy Company, part of the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division, from its training in the early days of World War II through D-Day and the end of the war in Europe. It stars Damian Lewis, Donnie Wahlberg, Neal McDonough and Ron Livingston.
"Band of Brothers" was nominated for 19 Emmys in 2002 and won six, including the award for outstanding miniseries.

As part of its deal with HBO, the History Channel also acquired the documentary "We Stand Alone Together," in which surviving members of Easy Company recall the events dramatized in "Band of Brothers."

Bordick, I've owned that set for awhile! It is without a doubt the best thing I've seen on TV in years.

Let me break it down for you Tay:

I saw it for $60: Referring to the DVD box set of the HBO mini-series of Band of Brothers (Which usually retails for $90 or more).

Bum****: it's the american translation of middle of nowhere (most likely a redneck hick town).

,PA: This particular bum**** town happens to be located in the state of Pennsylvania (abbreviated as PA)

got it now?

I love this set. I got it for my spouse for Christmas last year, and when I was home on medical leave, I ended up rewatching it from beginning to end. Great stuff.

I put it right up there with my set of "From the Earth to the Moon".

I just recently watched these again, and after the first one I just wanted to watch them all in a row, butI had to be up at 6am, so I just watched one or two a night,

love the way the show hightlighted one person per episode but everyone was always there with sub plots,
