'24' Pours Some More Sherry

She's ba-a-ack.
Like a cold he can't get rid of, "24's" President David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) will be forced to deal with his ex-wife Sherry (Penny Johnson Jerald) again this season.

Jerald has signed on for "a handful of episodes plus a few more" on the FOX thriller, the actress tells USA Today. "I'm having too much fun" playing the duplicitous Sherry, she says. "This is scrumptious."


Sherry will make her first appearance this season on the episode scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 13. Jerald is keeping quiet about what brings Sherry back into Palmer's life, but she does tell the paper that her arrival coincides with "all hell break[ing] loose in all areas."
Jerald was a regular on "24" last season, which ended with Sherry fleeing after reluctantly helping CTU agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) smoke out those responsible for trying to detonate a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles. The current season is set three years later, with Palmer in the middle of his re-election campaign.

Jerald's contract status was left hanging at the end of last season, but she said at the time she'd be willing to return.
