Old BSG vs New BSG -- Tale of the Tape

New Apollo vs. Old Apollo

Well, New Apollo looks cool but come on... look at old Apollo's hair. Edge: Old BSG

New Adama vs Old Adama

So who could be cooler than Edward James Almos? The guy spoke 8 words during the entire run of Miami Vice. He also played a teacher with very bad hair. Who could beat that? Lorne Greene, dude! He starred in Bonanza AND Alpo Dog Food Commercials! I dunno..too close to call
Edge: Even

New Starbuck vs Old Starbuck

New Starbuck is a pretty young thang with moxie. Dirk Benedict, the old Starbuck, was a pretty young thang with moxie. Tie breaker is who starred in A-Team? I pity the foo who don't pick Dirk!
Edge: Old BSG

New Cylon vs Old Cylon

Um... do you need me to spell it out. Hottie vs a walking toaster. I like bagels but not as much as hotties!
Edge: New BSG

New XO Tigh vs Old Colonel Tigh

A black man replaced by an old white guy? Where's Al Sharpton? But new tigh is an alcoholic and cranky. I LOVE CRANKY
Edge: New BSG

New Boomer vs Old Boomer

The BLACK MAN gets no breaks! What does the Sci Fi Channel have against the proud black man? Then again.. I only wanna spoon with one boomer...and she's HOT! Alas... Old Boomer was always cool and I'll show him loyalty. This MAN won't be keepin Boomer down!.
EDGE: Old BSG

New Baltar vs Old Baltar

Hmm... New Baltar looks like a metrosexual. Old Baltar's eyebrows scare me.
Edge: New BSG

New Muffit vs Old Muffit

There is no new Muffit as of yet. THANK GOD! Look at that thing. What did they make that out of? Slurpee tops, shag rugs, and pipe cleaners?

Edge: New BSG

New Boxey vs Old Boxey

Jebus, look at their hair!! It hasn't changed! Horrible. Please let him find the Battlestar Barber
Edge: Even

I haven't seen the new BSG, I'm sure it's good, but the original series was just so much fun, especially on a rainy day.

I won't even tell you how long it told me to search for the images and crop them. Of course, the guy who made himself look like Agent Smith is making fun of me for having too much time on my hands?

Your wife wrote the banner?

Can she replace you on the forum?

That's greatness Matt. Best Matt post of the week!!!

heh.

Does anyone else think it is weird that they managed to find another old man to play Adama that is just as weird looking as the original Adama?

Matt, you are no Kramer, but thank you for playing. I haven't seen either BSG, plus I don't get the Sci-Fi channel (hopefully, it won't be long before they bring it to free cable), but nevertheless that was a killer post.

I don't know if any of you remeber but the old moffit was tre COOL!

why you ask?

Cause it was played by a chimpanzee in a suit!

That's right, they taught this chimp to wear a suit and interact with the kid.

I don't know if that has ever been done before or since.

I'm surprised PETA isn't protesting retroactively!

I didn't know that was what they did though. That's pretty cool.

What he's doing to that chimpanzee is illegal in 44 states and 5 provinces of Canada.

Confession time: Just had to go check what 'moxie' meant. Worried it was some kind o' venereal disease or something, lol!

Useless trivia - Noah Hathaway played the original kid. He also played Atreyu in the original Neverending Story (not the sucky sequels).

He's a cool guy who just opened his own motercycle chop shop type place. He was at DragonCon last year, his first convention appearance ever, and was absolutely blown away by all the fan attention he was getting considering he hadn't been in a major role since he was a kid and had given up acting long ago. We ran into him at one of the bars the DC people frequent and got to chat with him for a few minutes... very cool down to earth guy.

You know, I tried watching the old BSG once. It was hilarious, and not in the good way.
