Sex music

Without getting too graphic and upsetting the young'uns 'round here...

There's music out there that just screams sex. Some of it's just plain old romantic, some of it's outright triple X rated, some of it's just got that perfect groove...if you know what I mean .

When you're getting hot and heavy what's in heavy rotation?

What songs instantly remind you of a "special moment"?

What songs make you feel all hot and bothered?

Is it the groove, the words, the singer's voice or all of the above?

How about from the movies...I know there are songs that I've heard during love scenes that have really added to the mood.

The theme song to "Color of Night," and the movie itself, always gets me going.

One word:

Sade

I can't think of any other cds I own that are more sexy. Her voice, the smooth, slow grooves....yum. We discovered her way back when she was still new...."Never As Good As the First Time", "Criminal", "Smooth Operator" etc.

Some candles, some Sade....how you doin'?

Anybody know the band Cowboy Junkies? Dave and I first met when their first album was out. When we got married we danced to their version of Blue Moon. The have this very ethereal quality to their sound. Very beautiful and luscious.

Every year on our anniversary we turn off the lights and dance to that song from our wedding...it's very romantic and nostalgic..and the sweetest thing is that my husband started the tradition, not me!

There were three other women in my group of college friends who, like I, got married right after graduation. A friend made each of us a mix CD entitled "The Honeymooners" filled with songs about sex. It was too funny! (We were all driving to our honeymoon destinations, so this was to listen to between the wedding and checking into a hotel). Some of the songs were: Like a Virgin, Discovery Channel, Let's Get Drunk and Screw, Doin' It, Let's Talk About Sex, and a bunch of others I can't remember now. It was fabulous!

I did get a little embarrassed when one of the kids in the Youth Group I lead at my church found it in my car and started listening to it, though...

Agreed on Prince. Except when he's in squeaky rap mode. Or rocking out.

When Doves Cry is pretty sexy, but I've never actually done the hibbity-dibbity to it.

Perhaps that's less to do with Prince and more to do with your use of the phrase "hibbity-dibbity"

My husband reminded me of another group we like to um...be affectionate to...

Roxy Music. Bryan Ferry is like the white man's Barry White.

When Dave and I first met Dave was still really big into alternative 80's music. He introduced me to Avalon by Roxy Music. I'd never heard of them. "More Than This" is such a gorgeous song.

Another old 80's band my hubby was into was Berlin. Remember they had that one hit on the Top Gun soundtrack? Well he really liked them and they were pretty sultry too.

Any of the old Lords of Acid CDs are the perfect soundtrack for boinking. It's all about sex, and it's dark electronic music. Sometimes it's funny. Mostly it's just hot.

Last time I planned some gettin' down, I put In Flames' The Jester Race/Black Ash Inheritance on the cdmajiggy. It's hard, dark, melodic metal, so it's good for some heavy rompin'.
