Video Games Turned to Books

I've noticed that this trend is becoming more and more popular recently with a lot of popular games spawning off with books. This happens with tv shows and movies a lot, also.

What do you think?

I have bought 2 StarCraft books, but that is all.

Generally crappy.

I read the Halo prequel book.

Entertaining. Fluff, but entertaining.

The X-Wing series is actually the best I've ever read of this type. A few in that series are actually EXCELLENT.

Hobs, the X-Wing books came out before the Rouge Squadron games were ever made, and they were separate from the PC Star Wars games. They're just part of the extended Star Wars universe, like the Thrawn, Daala, Dark Empire, and New Jedi Order stuff is.

Er... Faf... you are wrong.

Yes they came out before Rogue Squadron. But they aren't based on the Rogue Squadron games... which are rather inferior.

They are based on the X-Wing/Tie Fighter games for PC. The first book DIRECTLY takes parts from the original X-Wing game and uses them in the first X-Wing book.
