Since I work for GameStop, I can give you official word:
Halo 2 has been pushed back to sometime between June and the late Fall. Don't be suprised if it's a holiday release. The reason? Twofold-
1. Bungie and MS want to make sure that Xbox Live works with the game, since basically, they're going to need to be able to support having half a million players on at any given time. And they don't want their system to crash five minutes after it officially starts up.
2. GameStop (my company) is technically responsible for the delay as well. We've taken in WAAAAAAAY too many reservations for the game. We're looking at easily having HALF A MILLION reservations for the game already. And that's JUST GameStop. Add in Electronics Boutique, GameCrazy, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, etc....and they're probably looking at having over 1 million reservations for the game by shipping day. And that means that they're going to have to SHIP 1 million copies in the FIRST SHIPMENT. They don't have that type of numbers yet. Thus, they're stuck trying to stockpile the game so they can meet the demand on release date.
But, in the meantime, you Xbox players can get Fable, Ninja Gaiden, Sudeki, and Doom 3.

Doom 3 should be coming out in June for the Xbox. For the PC, it'll be shipping in the first week of May. Don't know about Half-Life 2 yet. Fable should be out in June as well.
