Amercan mcGee's OZ the film trilogy?

From gamespy:
Quote:
According to a report in the Hollywood Reporter, Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Walt Disney Pictures have optioned the film rights to The Wizard of Oz - the latest game project from former id Software developer and current founding father of Carbon6 Entertainment, American McGee. screenwriters Kevin and Dan Hageman are attached to the movie project, which is being called a "trilogy". McGee is also apparently working on some books related to his new vision of "Oz", along with the game itself which is currently in development. Not a lot is known about the game, save that it is a more dark and classic retelling of the popular series of books.

When they get done with Alice I'll be more apt to believe it'll happen.

I love the way "trilogy" has now become a whole movie genre rather than a denominator.

I've ready every Oz book there is...

and they are really nothing at all like the classic movie. They are much darker in nature, so a darker version of them could just mean he's sticking closer to the books.

I'm all for this though, I'd like to see them done a little closer to what Baum wrote... and darker is definently closer.
