I really like Crackdown. But I’m a bit disappointed that the game is being treated like a second-rate punk with the Halo 3 multiplayer beta attached to it. Gamers seem to be semi-interested in the game, but fully stoked for the H3 MP beta. Well, for gamers who aren’t convinced you can check out this amazing video footage of Crackdown’s weapons of mass destruction.
Maybe a little blood and gore will change the minds of those who are wary of Davy Jones and his evolutionary take on Grand Theft Auto. While in concept it may be a beefed up GTA, in execution it is a wholly new beast of massive proportions. The stunts, the firearms, the fighting, the building hopping and the super-hero antics are enough to sell the game as a next-gen effort all its own. As it nears release maybe gamers will change their minds about Crackdown being “...just another GTA clone”. And if not, here’s some footage to help convince the nay-sayers otherwise.
