Gears of War 2 vs. Resistance 2: Round 1

R2 is stupid mindless and has no objective in its online play besides kill the other team....while gears of war 2 has a objective in its online play(submission,king of the hill,annex,). The story mode in Gears of War2 is taking it slow but eventually it will get into deeper detail. R2 has the same old alien attack plot. Also Gears has amazing graphics which blows the fucking crap outta R2. Gears of War is also a game to be played for tournaments(MLG).

Simple facts: ps3 hardware / software pwns the 360.
GEW and resistance are 2 different games. 3ps to fps. can not compare fairley.

resistance - IF any of you GOW people have played it seriousloy - DOES take alot of skill / stratagy.
resistance - The game is grey - yes! thats how its ment to be DUH. To show how dark the game really is.
resistance - A hell of alot of thought has gone into it
resistance - most unique current fps in terms of gameplay and how wep's work

now resistance 2: is not the same game as r1. nothing works the same, yeah the weps and characters are the same but thats about as far as it goes. Insomniac sold out to other games and started to copy them and did not stay true to the origional - so everyone basing how r2 is going to be through r1-- your wrong. simple.

graphics wise - r1 beats r2. r2 has brighter colours: so what?

your dumb... gears 2 sucks, it sooo clunky (rainbow six vegas is soo much better an not clunky) but at least they kinda fixed it.... its still a broken mess online though same bs glitches an host bs). resistance 2 is really damn good and has more depth, better online, and IS NOT BROKEN . Alright lets get straight down to the point! Resistance 2 wipes gears of war 2's ass because Gears of War is better than that FPS Shit! Resistance 2 sucks more than the ps3 and thats pretty bad because I thought the only thing that sucked more than the ps3 was wasting 500 bucks on it! The point is Gears of War 2 is the best game ever and Resistance 2 is a poor example of a an FPS and it sux ass!

In resistance 2, when you shoot a people they just stand still and take the bullets and eventually they just hit the ground! Now thats some FPS bullshit right there! In gears of war 2, when you shoot enemys there skin starts coming off wherever you shoot them and they start backing off from the bullets! Now thats realistic! Alomost every character in Gears of War 2 has famouse voice actors, Marcus fenixs voice actor is Bender the Robot from Futurama, General RAAMs voice actor helps with Family Guy episodes and Cole Trains voice actor is a Rapper for Christ sake! Resistance 2 has only one main character with some Gay Ass name and his voice actor is a nobody in this world! Final score is Resistance 2 gets a 1/10 for sucking so bad and Gears of War 2 gets an 11/10 for kickin ass this year!

The gameplay in Gears of war 2 is different. different gameplay. different sound effect when shooting your gun. different everything. gears if war2 is a whole new game. resistance fall of man 2 is not. resistance can't even do what gears of war 2 can do so i don't know why r u comparing it. the storyline in gears of war 2 is exciting and amazing. the story for resitance fall of man story line is dumb. U just killing got damn aliens. Gears of war2 storyline is is excitement and interesting. Geras of wqar 2 got amazing graphics and more gameplay then restiance. I got to go. im at shcool so i can't type that long. Like i said gears of war 2 is bigeer and better than resitance. who want a 60 people playing. all it going to do is lag and shoot. can't even cover and hide your self from not getting shooten.

To tell you the truth, I was once a PlayStation "FANBoy" but then the XBOX came out and that changed my life. XBOX 360 will kill any system. How long did it take for the PS3 to come out after the 360 did? Why is it that PS3 has to copy everyone. motion sensors and trophies, come on sony you can be more original than that. Here is my opnion, Gears will RAPE resistence 2 but then again i cant really tell since neither is out yet. Gears in my opnion, is better beacuse it actualy requires SKILL. in Resistence, all you do is shoot from far away and hope you get the damn kill. Fuck resistnce GEARS WILL WIN

ok, iv'e read loads of comments and most are stupid. Don't come on the website and make judgements on these games' gameplay when you have no idea. what you have been told by the developers is one thing but what the game is actually like is another thing.

Gears 2 i think will be better, but i don't actually know it's an opinion. I'm not going to say that resistance 2 will be shit or anything like that.

I will get both Gears 2 and resistance 2 as i have xbox 360 and ps3. Don't hate on the game that's not on your console please, it does my head in.

Last thing, Gears 1 was to the majority of people a better game no doubt so don't bother arguing bout that. If you like resistance 1 more than gears 1 than get resistance 2 not gears 2, Whatever!

Gears 2 in my opinion however will be better as that gameplay is slightly improved and gears 1 gameplay was better than resistance 1-FACT. Graphics can't be compared since you have the animation type-gears and the more realistic approach-resistance. The features are better from waht iv'e read for Gears 2 and so is the audio and realism is by far better

I think theyre both going to be awesome. Gears blew me away the first time i played it because it was so new and fresh. I only just started playing resistance, so it doesnt have that feel i got from GOW the first time, and im about half way through it with my friend. I think GOW was the more enjoyable game. However, both games bore me in singleplayer and i thank god theyre both co-op. The open scale of the battlefields in resistance is awesome and the close quarters fighting u can get with GOW is also awesome. I'm liking the look of the upcoming PS3 games better than those for 360. I find LBP really appealing, along with R2 and KZ2. GOW 2 will be sick, but im not so sure about fable 2 and halo wars tbh.

I actually liked the Resistance trailer a bit more because of its dramatic presentation, and I voted accordingly.

I played both original games, offline only. I couldn’t really get into Resistance, so I didn’t finish it. Story was cool, but the controls felt kinda sloppy and the early weapons in the game felt uninspired. Also, I’m sick of gray and brown color palettes. Ugh. I considered buying a PS3 when I first saw Resistance: FoM, but I wasn’t impressed enough with it to drop the $600.

I actually bought a X360 because of Gears. Some of my best gaming moments came from playing it’s co-op mode with a buddy. The story was spotty on the details, and the characters are mostly one-dimensional testosterone junkies. But it PLAYED really well. Plus, it has A CHAINSAW GUN. Awesome.

I didn’t play either of the games online. I don’t own a PS3 and I’m a PC gamer at heart, so paying $50 a year to play games online seems like a rip-off. And 60-player online modes may make you console-exclusive guys go nuts, but that kind of capability has been around in PC games for a while. I’m glad the console guys are getting that kind of experience now, though.

Personally, I think GeOW2 is going to win. Sure R2 looks all new and snappy. But you can cover shiat in candy and say it's the best you'll ever eat. It will not be the best you've ever eaten. GeOW series so far is doing a better job than Resistance series. Also, 60 players in a room is damn lot. A damn lot means a damn lag. Although 8 players is a bit limited, it's still enough so long as it has an enriching and stellar gameplay. They are 2 completely different genres, JSYK.

PS. Remember TLOZ: OOT, scorewise, blew every other game back to hell, but it looked like shiat.

I think you ment to say Micro$oft has tthe best software right now, they haven't "made" much themselves...most of their best games are 3rd party, SONY has way better 1st party games hands down. Therefore they acctually have more exclusive titles. I been playing resistance2 beta all day, i'm left speechless, enormous, beautiful maps. Gameplay has been improved & balanced, new weapons & improvements to old favorites.This game will move software, it redefines the FPS genre. BTW, i'm in the HOME BETA, SONY's free service will be the envy of all deathbox360 users.

I love the 360 and the ps3. But my 360 just got the ring of death. LOL I have had my ps3 since it came out. I have the 60gb system and have had no problems with it whatsoever. The ps3 has a 0.001% failure rate compared to the newly reduced xbox360's which is still high. It was 40% but now it is 16% comparred to a 0.001% failure rate. If i was playing gears 2 the xbox system would crash because the system can't handle something as good as gears of war 2. If gears was on the ps3 it would be better than resistance, but its not so resistance is totally better. I am not a fanboy. I love gears of war and how you can roll around and do kung fu flips to get out of the maps. But it just doesnt have that click like resistance did. So resistance 2 will be better than Gears 2. The reason i say that is because that resistance 2 has better graphics, atleast 3 different campaigns depending on the players in it and the difficulty level you put it on. 60 player onine. 8 player co-op more maps bigger maps and more detaild maps, more explosions and up to 300-foot enemies against the gears of war 2's, 2 player co-op 10 player online 5 player co-op horde mode (which will be awesome) smaller maps less detailed maps and less maps, only one campaign to go through, less detailed characters and up to only 30-foot enemies.The dowloadable content will be free for resistance 2 while you pay for the downloadable content for gears of war 2. The ps3 won't blow up playing a game as good as resistance unlike the 360. If the 360 tried to play Resistance 2 or any game that is an exclusive to the ps3, the 360 wouldn't even get to the start menu of the game. That's how much better the ps3 is compared to the 360. Now trust me i play the 360 more than my ps3 cause more of my friends play it, but i would have to disagree with xbox live being better than the 360. I mean with the ps3 you can surf the internet, autimatically put any film clip or picture you put in any game you have and upload it directly to youtube.com. Now how cool is that. Now don't send any stupid funkin ass comments about gears of war 2 being better than resistance 2 or that the xbox360 is better than the ps3, cause they aren't. There is no comparison to them. I will say though that the 360 is better than the Wii.

My ps3 took all of about 2 mins to set up, if that. All I have to do is search for the wireless network, and once its found it (Takes about 3 seconds by the way) all I have to do is input the WEP key and then Im online. No subscription fees or anything stupid like that. I just go into a game and play online
And an hour to do a 130mb install? I think your exaggerating. GTA IV was about a 4gb install and that only took me about 5 minutes

And Yes, I will play blu rays on my ps3, as that is the format which is the standard (Well supposedly, but its having such a slow uptake)

Now Im not biased towards either peice of machinery. I have played 360 quite a few times and its far from a peice of crap. Ill say its not as good a machine as the ps3, as that is a simple fact. Once devs start to *finally* tap the cell the results should be amazing. I read somewhere that although MGS4 took up a 50gb DL Blu Ray (Probably all the ridiculously long cut scenes etc lol) It was only using between 30% and 40% supposedly, although dont quote me on it. Once devs finally get to grips with and harness the full power of the cell, we will see things that will blow your mind
