'To Leave' Confirmed 1080p, 60fps For PS4; No Xbox One Release In Sight
Another native 1920 x 1080p game has been confirmed for release on the PlayStation 4. However, like many other non-sports titles, this 1080p and 60fps puzzle platformer is nowhere to be seen within the release confines of the Xbox One.
Gaming Bolt managed to get in word with the independent Freaky Creations, where they spoke with the Ecuadorian-based development studios' creative director, Estefano Palacios and producer Jorge Blacio.
According to Blacio...
“To Leave is not as resource intensive as a full 3D AAA, but it does have its moments when it demands the hardware a bit. Mostly because of the physics, but this has been optimized a lot by us at this point. So it is safe to say that To Leave will run at 1080p at 60fps on the PS4,”
Majority of the indie titles on the PlayStation 4 have been confirmed to be 1080p and 60fps, setting a really good standard and being a good role-model for eighth-generation home console gaming.
A lot of this is because of Sony's willingness to work with developers and set them up with the appropriate tools and materials to get their games up and out there on PlayStation platforms. It's an opposite measure of Microsoft, who has only recently started adopting a more indie-friendly attitude with their ID@Xbox program.
According to Palacios, though, Sony has gone over and beyond to court them into the PlayStation family, telling Gaming Bolt...
“The Incubation program has allowed us to get To Leave on the Play Station platforms. They give us access to DevKits, without any cost. They invite us to events like GDC so that we can expose our game. They present us to know indie developers, so that they can advise us. All of this things are really impossible to get here on Ecuador,”
That's really interesting, because we don't often hear about the realities of designing games for consoles outside of America, the UK and Japan.
Of course, all this talk about 1080p and 60fps doesn't mean anything if the game isn't fun, right? Well, take a look at To Leave and see if it looks like it could be any fun for your fingers.
Hot dang that soundtrack is sweet.
To Leave will be Freaky Creations' very first game to get published on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and on PC. The title seems to be shaping up to be a very interesting game.
And before people say “It's a simple indie game that's why it's 1080p and 60fps”, keep note that even Trials Fusion was too much for the Xbox One to handle at 1080p and 60fps. So AAA or indie, the Xbox One comes up short and flaccid in the hardware department, when it comes to handling 1080p games at 60 frames per second.
