Today Activision revealed the last James Bond film that will appear in first-person shooter 007 Legends. Players will be able to undertake a mission inspired by the 1964 film Goldfinger, starring Sean Connery.
In the Goldfinger mission, Bond is on the trail of Auric Goldfinger, a shady gold magnate. With the help of Pussy Galore (yes), he learns that Goldfinger is planning to set off an atomic bomb at Fort Knox. The mission ends with Bond racing to Fort Knox to stop this bomb from going off. 007 Legends' single-player campaign threads together Goldfinger and four other classic Bond films: Die Another Day, Moonraker, Licence to Kill and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Each of these films starred a different Bond, but in the game Bond is played exclusively by Daniel Craig. Craig's upcoming film Skyfall will be the subject of a sixth mission released as post-launch downloadable content. Goldfinger is one of the best Bond films ever made so Legends wouldn't have felt right without it. The fact that Activision waited so long to reveal this particular mission made me wonder if there was going to be some big surprise attached to it. My secret hope was that they'd manage to get Sean Connery to lend his voice or likeness. The price tag for such an appearance would probably be too high to stomach, though. Legends will launch worldwide on the week of October 16th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. A Wii U version is in development as well but currently undated. Back to top
