In preparation for PlayStation Vita's launch later this month, GameStop has added playable demo units to many of its locations. They say that more than 3,300 GameStop stores in the US offer players an opportunity to log some hands-on time with the upcoming handheld.
The PS Vita sports a five-inch OLED multitouch screen, front and rear touch pads, dual analog sticks, dual cameras, and Sixaxis motion technology. It's an impressive list of features, but now you'll get to find out how they translate into gameplay. GameStop demo units will allow you to try out the following games:
- UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss
- Little Deviants
- Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
- EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer
- ModNation Racers: Road Trip
- Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition
- Escape Plan
- wipEout 2048
While you're in the store, GameStop is also hoping you'll take the opportunity to trade in your old handheld. They'll offer you an extra $25 on a trade-in of a DS, 3DS, or PSP if you apply that credit toward a Vita purchase.
The Vita will launch on February 22nd in North America. You can get it a week early by pre-ordering the First Edition bundle. Limited quantities of a special Launch Day bundle will be available starting on the 22nd.
