Alan Wake's recent PC launch seems to have been successful. Remedy Entertainment announced that the action thriller game has passed two million copies sold across the PC and 360.
"We've moved over two million copies - that's including PC," Remedy's Oskari Häkkinen told CVG. "So after a slow start it's turning into something really positive. It's definitely had legs. I think narrative experiences just have a tendency for that."
"Alan Wake's like a cult classic if you like... People who have played and enjoyed the story feel the urge to tell their friends and other gamers out there that they need to try this experience, they need to play it."
Remedy followed up Wake with Alan Wake's American Nightmare, a standalone Xbox Live Arcade title released last month. However, the series won't end there. Häkkinen seems optimistic that the studio will make additional games.
"Yeah, I think so. Alan Wake is definitely very close to our hearts. It's our IP - we own it. It's not something that we're going to forget very easily."
Alan Wake stars an author who goes on vacation to overcome writer's block. However, the sleepy town he's staying in has a dark secret. His wife vanishes and suddenly he begins finding pages of a book he doesn't remember writing. The game hit the Xbox 360 in 2010 and the PC in February. The PC edition recouped its costs in two days.
