Vindictus Trailers Promote The New Archer, Kai
Nexon and devCat's free-to-play action-oriented story-based MMORPG, Vindictus, has received a brand new character class named Kai. To celebrate the launch of the new class, Nexon let loose two brand new trailers showcasing the highlights, skills and abilities of the newcomer.
Oftentimes archers in MMOs are completely useless; warriors usually double down for absorbing damage as tanks and unleashing DPS, mages focus on DPS and crowd-control, and healers...well, they heal. Archers are like mages and warriors except they can't crowd control and they can't tank, meaning they're pretty useless in most MMOs other than to be there just for the sake of being there.
Kai, alternatively, is an archer with a purpose. This class has the ability to deal massive damage to bosses as well as get in close without getting hurt using a wide range of nifty skills. He can chain-link foes together and execute plenty of fast-hitting, combo based long-range and short-range attacks. Yes, as mentioned, Kai is an archer with a purpose.
Very impressive, no? The game is a ton of fun and the grind in Vindictus is much more affable than in some MMOs, especially considering that you can actually beat bosses while being vastly under-leveled and under-geared, since the game relies on skills, smarts, tactics and teamwork in different ways than most traditional MMOs. Even an over-geared, high-level player can still get his butt handed to him on a silver platter by a low-rank boss if he's not careful. This makes Kai much more effective as an archer in this game since he can hold aggro and actually avoid being hit, giving him a much more prominent, skill-based role in the game.
You can take Kai for a test drive right now in Vindictus either via Nexon's Official Website or available through the Steam portal.
