Throughout the Gears of War series, multiplayer has consisted of team-based battles between the Locust and COG forces. However, with Gears of War: Judgment, People Can Fly will shake things up with a free-for-all mode.
OXM UK will publish a preview of this new game mode in their upcoming issue. Today they released the very first screenshot of it, showing Baird in a Lancer duel with a fellow human soldier.
Apparently this Free-for-All mode will be the first of its kind in the series. Deathmatch is such a common staple of other shooters so it's tough to get excited by its inclusion in Judgment. Every shooter fan owns multiple games with some sort of FFA play. Still, there's something to be said for People Can Fly filling a gap in Gears of War's otherwise extensive multiplayer offering.
This is the first game in the series with People Can Fly as its lead developer instead of Epic Games. They seem intent on leaving their own stamp on the game. They previously announced a DOTA-style multiplayer mode called Overrun.
