Machinarium Struts Onto PS Vita March 26th

Machinarium, the beautiful adventure game set in a world filled with devious puzzles and quirky robots, finally made the jump from PC to PlayStation 3 in October of last year. Now Amanita Design’s award-winning title is set to journey forth into the great unknown once again, this time destined for the PlayStation Vita.

Announced this morning for the PlayStation Blog, Machinarium for the Vita looks to cram in all of the content and charm of the original PC version, as well as all of the extra bells and whistles that were added to the PS3 version of the game.

“When the PS3 version was released, we called it the best version of the game,” said Amanita Founder Jakub Dvorsky. “In it, we added lots of new features, like the ability to zoom in to get a closer look at the scene, magnetic hotspots, Trophies and more. The Vita version makes no compromises. In fact, it’s even better.”

Dvorsky goes on to explain that, in the PSV version of Mechinarium, players will be able to control the game with the analog sticks, as well as direct contact with the touch screen and rear touch panel.

“We’ve improved the zoom feature, too, so it’s more convenient to play the game in a portable capacity,” Dvorsky added.

Leaderboards have been added, too, allowing players to compare their fastest completion time with other players from around the world, as well as their best scores in various minigames.

You won’t have to wait long to play it, either. Machinarium for the Vita will arrive on PSN on Tuesday, March 26, for $6.99.
