Age Of Wushu, Hyper Light Drifter, 30 Other Games Greenlit For Steam

32 games have been greenlit for Steam via Steam Greenlight. Valve recently announced the games that have been greenlit, including highly popular fan favorites, one of which has blasted past its Kickstarter goal and is aiming to arrive for Nintendo's Wii U.

Hyper Light Drifter was recently in the news for surpassing the $400,000 mark on Kickstarter and developer Heart Machine is aiming for $500,000 to complete mobile and home console renditions of the game. Well, one hurdle is clearly out of the way and that's getting through Steam's Greenlight process.

Joining Hyper Light Drifter is another fan-favorite, an MMO that we covered rather frequently earlier in the year that also happened to be promoted by world-renown international action star, Jet Li. I'm talking about the one and only Age of Wushu. The non-linear multiplayer RPG set itself apart from a lot of other games with a very unique series of gameplay mechanics that diverged from the typical WoW-clone.

One of the things that really helped Age of Wushu stand out was being able to evolve your character without going through the traditional grind. Players could level up in ways that were both unique and original, such as helping out newbie players, socializing, or going at it alone on a mountaintop and practicing your martial arts.

In addition to those two heavyweights, other fan-favorites such as AdventurOS and Zombies also made the cut. The former is a unique game with emergent gameplay based around your computer's file structure system. The latter is an office-based zombie survival game that mixes extreme gore with 8-bit graphics and a rocking soundtrack.

Other titles include Haunted and the 3D adventure title McDroid, which you can check out in the promo trailer below.

It doesn't end there, though. A really neat title called Death Road To Canada was also greenlit that sees players taking a roadtrip across dangerous and wild territory in order to escape from the hordes of the undead. The game's hook is that there is permadeath, so the idea is to get to Canada without dying. Sounds easy right? Wrong!

Another game that also managed to get greenlit is A-Train9, a locomotive and business simulation game, as well as CABAL Online, a game that has had its fair share of popularity outside of Steam, and another surprise entry was also greenlit called Claire. You can check out the brief but compelling promo trailer for Claire below or you can learn more about all the other games that have been greenlit for Steam's store by paying a visit to the official Steam Greenlight page. When Valve said they were going to kick it up a notch, they really meant it. Then again, a lot of these games have Linux support so it's important to get these up and out there to flesh out the SteamOS library.
