A cheater in Guild Wars 2 was found out by other gamers. They recorded him in action, took to the forums, posted the video and then complained to the developers what sort of actions would be taken against the cheater. Well, the developers responded by trolling the cheater and deleting his character... and recorded video of it.

The context of the video is that after gamers took video footage of J T Darkside being a cheater in Guild Wars 2 and notified the developers. Guild War 2's security lead, Chris Cleary responded to the disgruntled gamers, saying...
We don’t need to see it in-game, sometimes good video evidence is enough for me to track down who it was, […] In this case, the video was enough for me to find out who it was and take action. Thanks for the video, and to accompany your video, I give you this video of his account’s last moments […] Oh yah, he’s also banned.
The video he's referring to is the one above showing J T Darkside being stripped naked; humiliated in front of the masses. Clearly has Darkside stand up on a ledge as the provocative exhibitor that he is, waving first before jumping off the ledge and plummeting to the ground below... embracing death.
Shortly after the death, the account is logged out of and while on the main character select menu in Guild Wars 2 the two main characters on the account that was used for cheating were subsequently deleted.
There's a lot of cheers and praise for the actions of ArenaNet. Tripl3M, in all caps, exclaimed “THE BAN HAMMER HAS STRUCK HARD AGAINST THIS POOR FOOL!”
As you can imagine, with views of the video getting close to a million, most of the sentiments are along the lines of Tripl3M.
Hackers in MMOs are a constant issue and the community of these MMOs are constantly at the mercy of these software manipulators. It's nice to see that the community is very proactive in taking the fight to the hackers and letting loose the evidence right in front of the developers and having them take the appropriate security measures to deal with these issues.
In the case of Guild Wars 2, this is a great way to not only deliberately shutdown hackers and destroy the prestige of their account, but it also makes it known that ArenaNet is serious about cleaning up the environment. The only downside is that some people feel as if this gives the hacker more fame and attention. However, having your avatars stripped naked, all their gear tossed away and then publicly committing suicide before having the account contents deleted doesn't seem much like the sort of attention they want.
