Sony Is Bringing Another PS2 Gem To The PS4

You might remember the RPG on the PlayStation 2, Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, when it was released way back in 2003. Now Sony is bringing the game to the PS4 and it’s going to be a lot sooner than you think.

According to IGN, back at PlayStation Experience last Fall, Sony announced that Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits would be joining the lineup of early PlayStation 2 games to be ported over to the PS4, but they hadn’t announced a release date. Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is coming to the PS4 as early as tomorrow, January 12.

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is the first installment in the Arc series that explores the story between brothers Kharg and Darc and their struggle over the Great Spirit Stones. But the second game, Arc the Lad: End Of Darkness, hasn’t been announced as a PS4 port. You can check out the trailer for Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits below to get a better idea of the game.

The game has been reviewed as just “okay,” but MetaCritic has given it a 72 and users rated it an 8.2 with raving reviews. It’s what anyone would expect from an RPG on the PlayStation 2, but the glowing elements of the game seem to be the narrative and the overall gameplay. Upon going into the game, you can choose which side to play for, the typical good versus evil present in games like World of Warcraft. Each side will have you play through a different storyline. One review by user, GameSpy, described the game quite accurately, writing,

I liken it to a big, dumb, friendly guy: an affable, warm-hearted chap that you'd be friends with in real life even if he doesn't offer any useful insights or advice. Reliable, trustworthy and true: that's Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits.

As mentioned previously, Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits will be available on the PS4 starting tomorrow.
