YouTuber Created DOOM's Enormous BFG 9000 In Legos, Check It Out

One of the most iconic weapons in all of gaming is the BFG 9000. It's a big freaking gun. The weapon practically obliterates anything in its path (although admittedly it does take a few shots for it to kill the Cyberdemon), and now gamers can check out a real life replica in the form of Legos.

With the impending launch of DOOM right around the corner for home consoles and PC, YouTuber ZaziNombies managed to put together a BFG 9000 tribute gun using Legos. The video was spotted by Game Informer and you can check it out below.

The video isn't very long but it covers the concept behind how the gun was built using Legos and how heavy it turned out to be. According to ZaziNombies, the BFG 9000 from the original DOOM weighed in at 20 pounds by the time they finished adding everything and the kitchen sink... no really, they added parts from a Lego kitchen sink.

Given how heavy the weapon is in the form of plastic, it definitely makes you wonder how much it would weigh if it were made of actual metal and electronic circuitry?

We managed to get a small taste of the weapon in some realized form with the 2005 movie, DOOM. Sadly the gun didn't get much use in the film, but it still managed to leave its mark.

Luckily the BFG will be making a return in id Software's 2016 reboot, due for release next month in May. This Lego rendition sort of gives you a small taste of what's to come, clocking in at three feet and being composed of thousands of Lego parts.

There are a few other cool things about the weapon that they cover in the video, such as using the thin panel stripes turned sideways to make it look like there are vents running along the top of the weapon, as well as including translucent green panels on the side to give the gun a glowing look as if its charging up the green bio-force before firing.

While the shoulder harness is crafted onto the weapon in real life, you can't actually use it the way they do in DOOM. They also note that carrying the weapon even for a short time will easily hurt your arms and hands. I can only imagine.

You won't have to wait long before you'll be able to get your hands on the BFG 9000 in the upcoming first-person shooter from id Software and Bethesda, but seeing the weapon in the form of Legos was a nice touch. The timing was also impeccable, given that DOOM is due out on May 13th next month for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The open beta recently ran through the weekend for home console and PC gamers.
