2022 Space Invasion Gets All Pew-Pew-Pew On iOS

One of the coolest things about early Sci-fi novels is how far the authors thought mankind might be able to advance in just a matter of decades. We’re talking jetpacks and laser pistols in the year 2000. Some of that pulp fun is maintained in Maysalward’s new action-shooter, 2022 Space Invasion, which has players participating in space battles against an alien threat in just 10 short years.

Earth is being invaded and it’s up to you to save the day. You’ll do this by hopping into one of your various space ships (each with its own strengths and weaknesses), flying out to the stars and blasting the buggers into space dust.



While 2022 Space Invasion is free to download on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, you can pay a little real world money to pick up power-ups and add-ons to enhance your flying death machines. You can also earn those extra features through unlocking achievements (i.e. grinding), so the choice is yours.

2022 Space Invasion is a top-down scrolling shooter that harkens back to arcade classics, but it sports a 3D first-person mode as well. The game initially features three missions that have you escorting the Orion Explorer, collecting materials or taking the fight directly to the alien threat. More levels are promised in future updates.
