NHL 2K8 is now complete. 2K Sports announced today that the 2K Reelmaker feature is now up and running for their latest hockey title. The Reelmaker allows players to create highlight videos of the best moves that get a goal. Or in the case of the Sabres’ Miller, anything that gets by his limp ass glove side. Damn, what a douche he can be.
The Reelmaker is a very cool feature. It includes some fairly robust editing tools to create custom angles, sound effects, and memorable vids of your best moves. Those videos can then be uploaded to Xbox LIVE for everyone to enjoy. While it’s questionable how valuable this is to the hardcore hockey fan, game videos are all the rage with the kiddos these days.
But wait, the news isn’t over. One week after release, this new content is going to cost you 400 Microsoft Points to get into. That’s right, a feature that should have been included with the game is a paid for extra. We can believe that 2K Sports needed an extra week to test things out, but no way is something like this worth paying for. Alas, this will probably be another spectacular seller for the masses who insist on letting downloadable content get out of control with pricing.
