In a fourth quarter earnings report, Take-Two Interactive announced their releases for the next fiscal year. One game was noticeably absent from the list: NHL 2K11.

PastePadre first noted the omission on Friday. FirstCuts contacted 2K Sports and received this statement: "We are currently in the process of evaluating our sports portfolio and have not announced any new NHL titles at this time."

Take-Two had a net loss of $137.9 million in 2009 so it's logical they'd look for fat to trim. NHL 2K10 reviewed pretty well on the Wii but not on the PS3 or Xbox 360, the platforms where it had to compete with EA's NHL 10.
