No, the headline isn't a typo. 3D Realms, after much toiling, has finally finished...their Xbox Live Arcade port of Duke Nukem 3D. Yes, that's right, they were working on an XBLA port. Guess they had some free time; it's not like they've got some other game to work on.
The Live Arcade version of the 1996 shooter just passed final certification with Microsoft on Friday, according to a new announcement on 3DRealms' website. They can't give a release date or price at this time, but they promise "plenty of real cool stuff" in the remake. Unless that "cool stuff" is a copy of Duke Nukem Forever, color me disappointed.
Seriously guys, go finish that goddamn game. You've been making it since 1997. It took Too Human less time to be developed and half the time they didn't even know what platform they were making it for. GRAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!
Ahem. Anyway, the game will have 12 achievements for a total of 200 Microsoft points and you can check them out here. Also, the October issue of the Official Xbox Magazine has a hands-on preview of the remake and will hit newsstands in a few days.
