Was it really necessary to create a sequel to a game that received poor review scores and appealed to the public with only moderate success? No! Yet somehow, THQ is throwing money into a franchise for no other reason than to capitalize on a rapper who was popular half-a-decade ago. Nevertheless, we have screenshots of this once canceled game.
Featuring middle-eastern bad guys, a lot of sandy environments and rap icon, 50 Cent, this shooter game is bound to put THQ in the financial red zone. I doubt the early bad press would detour from canning the game, but at this point I guess it's already too late.
Anyways, the game puts players in the role of 50 and his G-Unit. The game features a cover system, some run-and-gun gameplay and a co-op mode. The new screenshots showcase a little bit of the cover system and gives players a good glimpse into the dusty atmosphere the war-torn countries featured in the game.
50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is due out within the first quarter of this year for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games for further news and updates on all things gaming.
