Gamers looking for an introduction to the storyline of upcoming fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Origins will get 400 pages worth on March 3rd. That's the release date of Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne, a prequel novel penned by the game's lead writer David Gaider.
To quote the press release: "When the beloved rebel queen is murdered, her son Maric sets out on a mission of vengeance against the faithless lords who were responsible for his mother's untimely death." The first chapter of the book is available on the official Dragon Age website in PDF format. According to a listing on Amazon, the book will cost $14.95. This isn't the first novel based on one of BioWare's original intellectual properties. Mass Effect's lead writer Drew Karpyshyn has thus far written two novels based on the 2007 sci-fi RPG, entitled Mass Effect: Revelation and Mass Effect: Ascension. Revelation was a prequel to Mass Effect while Ascension was set a few months after the events of the game. Dragon Age: Origins is due on PC this March and at the end of 2009 for Xbox 360 and PS3. |
