This year marks the 50th anniversary of the American Football League (AFL), the league which eventually merged with the NFL in 1969. In commemoration of the AFL, EA is releasing an "AFL Legacy Pack" for Madden NFL 10.
The Legacy Pack essentially allows you to reenact an old timey AFL game. When enabled, the eight original AFL teams (Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Tennessee Titans) will wear their 1960's uniforms and be renamed if necessary (for example, the Titans will become the Oilers). The referees wear orange-striped AFL uniforms, the field bears all the official AFL markings and logos, and the camera becomes grainy. The interface will be transformed to resemble old football cards, too. The Pack also adds new Madden Moments, historical scenarios that task the player with completing a specific objective (such as scoring the winning touchdown in a championship game). These Moments are based on real situations from AFL history and will come with Achievements/Trophies. No mention of how many of these you'll get, though. The Xbox 360 and PS3 will receive the AFL Legacy Pack on September 24th. It'll cost you 560 Microsoft Points or $6.99. |
