Activision Admits Wii Gets Treated Like A StepchildAuthor: William Usher

Being a flourishing, top-of-the-crop publisher doesn’t mean every decision is the right decision for the company. In the case of Activision, they’re openly admitting that they just aren’t making good with the Wii, despite their financial amelioration in the gaming industry. Basically, they’re admitting that the Wii is their little red-headed stepchild.
According to TheGameReviews [via Reuters], the article exposes the comments from Activision regarding the Wii. “In the past we approached the Wii as an extension of what we were doing on PlayStation and the Xbox and I think we can do a better job of creating original content for the Wii, and I think you’ll see more of that this year." Says Chief Executive of Activison, Robert Kotick to Reuters. Good for Activision. Does this mean that we’ll finally get games that include having fun while throwing our arms around like a dementia patient? Because all that arm-flailing for lack-lusting shovel-ware hasn’t been cutting the custard on the fun-factor front. While gamers will get a good dose of action-oriented experiences on the PS3 and 360 with Singularity and the inFamous-clone called Prototype, Wii gamers will supposedly have to settle for something less grand, but equally fun. I’m just hoping people will take a cue from Sega and start back up with the original hardcore games like Madworld and House of the Dead: Overkill. We'll definitely keep an eye out for Activision's Wii efforts, because the system could use a facelift for originality.
