A new concept trailer was released for Spicy Horse's upcoming isometric hack-and-slash ARPG, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters. The trailer depicts some raw gameplay looking like a flatout amazing ARPG experience, complete with a snazzy art-style, slick animations and some demon mythos to round out the story.

As the title implies, you take on the role of demon hunters who must hunt down and stop mythological demon creatures from historic Japanese folklore. The game is designed by the same studio headed up by American McGee...that's right, the same American McGee who worked on Doom and launched the darkly satisfying American McGee's Alice In Wonderland.

The free-to-play isometric hack-and-slash title doesn't look half-bad, in fact it looks doubly good. Gamers still reeling from the one-two sucker punch of Diablo III can check out Akaneiro in action with the new trailer below.

The looks good, so far. I'm not entirely sure how the game's play model will be setup but it's apparently going to be free-to-play. The only thing that still leaves questioning about how it's going to be is that it's not being labeled as an MMO. So I'm guessing it's going to be a single-player, microtransaction-based ARPG? I guess we'll find out soon enough.
