Today Remedy Entertainment confirmed the report that the PC version of Alan Wake is up in the air. The final decision whether the Xbox 360 game also makes it to the PC is out of their hands, too.

Here's the statement sent to BrightFalls.net by Remedy:

"Thank you for your continued interest in Alan Wake. It is accurate that we are currently working exclusively on the Xbox360 version of Alan Wake. PC plans are currently open, and therefore it’s safe to say that at least a simultaneous launch with the Xbox version will not happen at this late stage. Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and would love to see a PC version available to its PC followers, ultimately however this decision lies with our publisher.”

Most people's reaction to this will probably be, "Oh no, not Microsoft!" Still, I can think of many publishers less likely to bring a console game to the PC. In fact, I'd say the situation looks somewhat promising, considering that Microsoft has a vested interest in PC gaming. They're first and foremost a computer company, after all.
