Gearbox Software's Aliens: Colonial Marines has been constantly dogged by rumors of cancellation but rest assured it's still in development. Might not get here as soon as you'd like, though.

Gearbox president Randy Pitchford told Kotaku that the squad-based shooter won't be released this year. Hopefully that means it'll arrive in 2010 but who knows. The game was initially announced way back in 2006.

Gearbox is currently working on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions of Colonial Marines. Pitchford revealed to Kotaku that a DS version is in the works as well, though it's being farmed out to another studio.
