The upcoming Aliens game published by Sega and designed by Wayforward Games is a classic action title that aims to rekindle a lot of the old-school platform, gore-and-gun gameplay from the Sega and SNES era.
A new action-packed trailer for Aliens: Infestation has surfaced for the Nintendo DS, featuring bucket-loads of acid blood being blasted out of aliens using a variety of weapons and explosives. Check it out below. The game is way, way more impressive than I thought it would be. They need to release a PC version of this game on Steam, Xbox Live Arcade and PSN with slightly better graphics and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound, and maybe some online co-op. The game seems to rekindle a lot of the intensity and a bit of the atmosphere from Blizzard Entertainment’s BlackThorne, which really was one of the best action-platformers of that entire era and one of my personal favorites. One of the other cool features about the new Aliens: Infestation title is that gamers can actually save people from being killed or impregnated by the face-huggers, creating both a survival-horror and search-and-rescue type element to the side-scroller. Props to Wayforward for adding that feature. You can look for Aliens: Infestation exclusively on the Nintendo DS come October 11th. Need more info? Feel free to visit the Official Website. |
