Hype All These PS3 Commercials Are Making Me Sick! on N4G
All These PS3 Commercials Are Making Me Sick! Is it just me, or have there been about a gazillion more Playstation 3 commercials in the past few weeks? Sure, the console is pretty much dead in the water (Unlike the Wii and the Halo supported 360, which are both doing swimmingly), but does that mean we have to be strangulated with images of black symbiote forming into advertisements for games I never really intended to play in the first place? (Heavenly Sword? No thanks!).

Of course, Sony has to do something to make some money back, but is the blitzkrieg marketing campaign the best way to do it? Personally, I don’t think so, as enough people out there already know that the PS3 is out (I mean, stores like Gamestop are practically leaving them outside for people to pick up they’re so desperate to get rid of them). And the games they’re showing on TV look too hardcore to really leave an impression on Grandma Mable who would much rather make Mii’s for the rest of her dying days.

Honestly, the PS3 really, really, really needs a hit game, like, immediately—one that can very well give the middle finger to anything Nintendo or Microsoft is putting out—if it wants to survive in this cutthroat, yet family friendly market. And Metal Gear Solid 4 isn’t coming out soon enough!

Get with it, Sony. Your dying dominance hangs in the balance.

Oh, and “killer” commercials certainly aren’t the answer.
