Activision has more news to share today than just an announcement about Rapala Bass Fishing, the company shed a little light on a new helicopter sim aimed to hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall. The name of the game is Apache Air Assault and it’s set to appeal to both hardcore and arcade loving gamers.

Featuring 16 war-ridden stages in the turmoil plagued middle-east, African mountains and Central-America jungles, Apache Air Assault is a tour-de-force of high-tech military might and aerial devastation.

David Oxford from Activision Publishing commented in the press release, saying…
“No games on next-gen consoles have been dedicated to helicopter combat simulation, but that is about to change this fall”... “Apache: Air Assault offers fun for diehard military enthusiasts and flight sim fans as well as gamers who just want to blow stuff up.”

The thing that really impresses me is the two-player local mode, that sees you and a buddy teaming up and taking down bad guys as pilot and co-pilot. That sounds like it would be mega-fun.
