April 2009 Sales: Wii Fit, DS Kick Ass And Chew Bubble Gum

The NPD Group has released the US software and hardware sales figures for the month of April and guess what, Nintendo wiped the floor with everyone again. The DS had a particularly disgusting month. Check it out:

Well, that DSi launch really worked out for Nintendo, didn't it? I suspect there will be a lot of creampies thrown Sony's way today over the PS3 sales, specifically the fact that they're now below PS2 sales. Still, Xbox 360 didn't exactly have a stellar month either. On the software side, it seems Godfather II had a decent debut. It's the only April release on the list, actually. I guess it's a good idea to have your game share a title with one of the most highly-regarded films of the last fifty years.
