Want to see the new vehicles of Arma III? How about the new underwater combat simulation? Interested in taking a gander at the improved weapon mechanics? How about a sneak peek at the HDR and night time effects? Well, Bohemia Interactive gives you a brief look at all of the above and more in their E3 2012 showcase trailer.
It's a little hard to summarize all of the contents of the trailer into one sweet little package but for the most part everything that you could imagine receiving a bit of a boost, upgrade or overhaul from Arma II has underwent a boost, an upgrade or an overhaul. The first-person mechanics are streamlined much better than before, and the weapon mechanics look about as smooth as ever, rivaling the likes of Battlefield 3...well, almost.
You can check out more of the features in the showcase trailer below.
All while watching the trailer I couldn't stop thinking about one thing: What would the DayZ mod look like in Arma III? It's funny because I'm sure a lot of people are wondering the same thing, especially with Arma II currently topping the Steam charts for almost an entire month thanks to the mod that's best described as an FPS version of the popular AMC TV show, The Walking Dead.
According to Kotaku, at least Bohemia Interactive is at least acknowledging the mod and we'll have to wait and see how well Arma III will support it.
Anyways, back to the military sim discussion -- we'll see more of Bohemia's upcoming military combat simulator at E3, including brand new gameplay demonstrations as well as improved performance support all while featuring the latest in visual technology.
