Armored Core: Verdict Day Coming This Summer To Xbox 360, PS3

Namco Bandai announced today that they have a new entry in the long-running Armored Core franchise. The new game will focus mostly on a persistent multiplayer world where players will team up with others and battle it out to control territory. The game is also compatible with Armored Core V so you can import your old save games.

Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing for Namco Bandai Games America commented about the game, saying...

“The ARMORED CORE series has continually found itself a deep and dedicated fanbase,” “ARMORED CORE: VERDICT DAY expands the level of immersion with more advanced customization fine tuning and streamlined multiplayer modes.”

You can actually import your Core from AC V and deck out your mech with additional weapons and armor and skills.

Another neat thing is that Operator Mode is making a return for players, enabling them to take command of the Cores in a real-time strategy mode, where you'll play like your favorite PC RTS games. That's pretty cool for players who might be better at twitch-thinking than they are at twitch-shooting.

The news does seem a little tame compared to all the huge news coming out regarding the PlayStation 4, but at least gamers know that the Xbox 360 and PS3 will continue receiving plenty of support well into the next-generation.

You can look for Armored Core: Verdict Day to launch this summer. You can join in on the persistent, online action once E3 ends.
