Army Of Two: The 40th Day Visits The Zoo

A new Army of Two: The 40th Day video went live today and it's not your average gameplay trailer. Instead, it's a fly-through of one of the game's competitive multiplayer maps, called "The Zoo."

The video is just a free-roaming camera sweeping through themap. No actual multiplayer match is taking place so I guess we're just expected to imagine the possibilities of this location. I don't know if a zoo's ever appeared in a shooter before but it's a setting with a lot of promise. The various animal pens give the map a diverse and unusual structure. Obviously the gameplay mechanics are what determines whether you enjoy a shooter or not but maps that offer up new strategic challenges are important, too.

40th Day's demo was released earlier in the week through Xbox Live and PSN. It features the single-player/co-op campaign rather than the competitive multiplayer, though. The game hits stores on January 8th here in North America and on January 12th in Europe.
