Army of Two: The Devilís Cartel Limited Edition Provides Bonus Gun
Like many other high-profile EA titles, Army of Two: The Devilís Cartel will get its own Limited Edition. The LE, available to all pre-order customers at no additional charge, provides a bonus weapon for the co-op shooter.
The freebie is a TAH-9 handgun. It's apparently the only full-auto handgun in the game. As the trailer shows, it's a lot more potent than the standard handgun. Bit weird to promote your pre-order bonus by saying that another gun in the game totally blows, though.
Devil's Cartel is a full reimagining of the series by Dead Space studio Visceral Games. This latest adventure stars Alpha and Bravo, a pair of mercenaries who find themselves in the middle of a Mexican drug war. This new story is said to be grittier and more mature than previous games.
Visceral will be using Battlefield 3's Frostbite 2 Engine for the game. You can see one of the main selling points of this technology at around 0:41 in the trailer. The two blow up a tower (by um, shooting it?) and it falls over onto their enemies.
Cartel is in development for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It's expected in March of next year.
