We still don't know the name of Assassin's Creed 3's hero yet but one thing's for certain: he isn't a city-slicker like Ezio Auditore. The first screenshots from AC3 show that he's quite comfortable out in the wilderness.

Four of the five images show him stalking prey - human or animal - out in the woods. In a couple cases there's snow on the ground, so his white hooded suit seems a little less ridiculous. The shots show a bit of buckskin trim on his clothing, perhaps confirming the theory that this character is at least part Native American.

One concern that readers expressed when they heard about the game's American Revolution setting was that it would impact the series' signature parkour. One of the screenshots shows our hero at the top of a tree, though, so parkour gameplay won't be completely absent in the wilderness. It's worth pointing out, too, that although American cities weren't enormous in this era, they also weren't nonexistent. The town shown in the fifth shot looks like it has plenty of buildings for the player to scale.

Ubisoft says that they'll release more details on AC3 on Monday. If you want to see more of the game before then, check out the artwork released yesterday.
