Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon Trilogy Packs Coming To Xbox 360
This generation of consoles is drawing to a close and publishers are releasing bargain collections left and right to rack up some eleventh hour sales. Ubisoft, for example, plans to release Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon compilations on Xbox 360 this fall on the cheap.
The Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy, previously released on PS3, includes Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed Revelations. These games are set in the Renaissance era and star Ezio Auditore de Firenze. At the outset of the trilogy, he's an irresponsible young noble who spends his nights climbing into young ladies' windows. After his family is attacked by political rivals, he becomes an Assassin and seeks revenge. In Brotherhood, he leads the Assassins in an attack on the Templars in Rome. Revelations, the conclusion of Ezio's story, sees the aging Assassin head to Constantinople to uncover the secrets of his ancestor Altair.
In addition to these campaigns, the Ezio Trilogy provides access to the multiplayer of Brotherhood and Revelations. In the multiplayer, the players stalk and kill each other in large sandbox environments. Bonus points are doled out for sneaky, surprising kills.
The Ghost Recon trilogy centers around an covert group of U.S. Special Forces armed with cutting-edge technology. In Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, the Ghosts travel to Mexico City to rescue the President of the United States and prevent a rebel group from launching U.S.'s nuclear arsenal. Advanced Warfighter 2 is a direct sequel in which the Ghosts must face Mexican rebels and their mercenary allies. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is set 10 years later and pits players against a secretive group called Raven's Rock.
Like the Assassin's Creed trilogy, the Ghost Recon bundle also features multiplayer. Players will have a wide range of competitive and cooperative modes to choose from. There's an emphasis on teamwork, strategy and careful use of gadgets.
The Assassin's Creed and Ghost Recon trilogies will be available on October 1st in North America. Each bundle will be priced at $29.99. The AC games are about $15 or so used these days so that trilogy pack is a decent deal. Ghost Recon isn't as much of a steal, as the GRAW games are each less than $10 these days. The trilogy bundle makes it a lot easier to find those older titles, though.
Box art for each of the bundles can be found in the gallery below.
