Assassin's Creed Syndicate Crafting System Explained

Ubisoft recently detailed the crafting and skill systems of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, explaining how players can upgrade their gear, upgrade their outfits and even upgrade their gang.

The news was posted over on the official Ubisoft blog, where they rolled out a long list of different attributes and possibilities that will be at the disposal of gamers when it's time to craft new material, new items, new clothing attire and upgrade their Rooks.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate allows players to choose their play-style, this means that if you want to go stealthy you can go stealthy and if you want to go all-out with guns-a-blazin' you can go all-out.

Your play-style is probably going to be determined by the items you keep in your stash. In addition to purchasing select items from stores and vendors within the game, you will also be able to acquire material by completing missions, defeating NPCs and scavenging through the dense streets of London to find rare components to put together the items you desire. For instance you can acquire the necessary material to upgrade your medicine pouch to increase your healing supplies. You can also upgrade your dagger pouch, so that you can carry more knives into battle. You can even upgrade the knives themselves to do more damage when you throw them at a distance. Ubisoft wanted to make sure there were a lot of choices and options available.

Things like bombs, darts and items in which you can orchestrate a quick escape are also possible to make.

Your loadout will likely determine how you plan to approach various scenarios, in the same way that your skill-set will also determine how effective you are at completing those scenarios. In the case of Jacob, he can upgrade his combat skills, his guns and his cane, where-as Evie will be able to upgrade her abilities to blend with the environment or utilize camouflage techniques to avoid detection.

In addition to upgrading both Jacob and Evie Frye in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, there are three tiers available for training the Rooks – the Frye's gang that they're using to fight back against the Templar in London. The three gang tiers including Ringleader, Insider and Swindler. Gaining resources will allow you to upgrade each tier so your gang will perform as you desire.

Attaining resources won't always be a hop, skip and a jump in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. Some of these resources will require you to go on special missions or complete specific side-quests to acquire the goods. Other times it may mean raising the loyalty levels with various associates in order to acquire rare items on special mission requests.

According to the blog post, most of all the items featured in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate can be obtained simply by playing through the game and acquiring in-game assets. However, some of the special costumes, capes and attire will be exclusive to Uplay users. That means you have to get the PC version if you want some of the bonus rewards.

There are a few more details about the combat, skill trees and the leveling system in the game. You can check out a few more of those details over on the official website. Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is due for release on October 23rd for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
