Batman: Arkham Asylum Delayed For PC But How About That PhysX?

Today Eidos announced that the Games For Windows Live version of Batman: Arkham Asylum will utilize NVIDIA's PhysX technology for enhanced in-game physics events. In the same press release, they also mention that PC gamers won't be getting the game as soon as console owners.

What does PhysX get you? According to the release, the game will have "volumetric fog which reacts to Batman’s movement and cobwebs which tear with his passing." During brawls, "office papers are thrown into the air alongside soda cans and litter." The crumbing Arkham Asylum is rendered in painstaking detail, with "wall tiles chipping and breaking, stone pillars crumbling upon impact, and particles from breaking glass and debris shattering and falling down around Batman’s feet."

Oh, you're still thinking about that whole "delay" thing, aren't you? Well, it seems the PC version will now be released on September 15th in North America and September 18th in Europe and Australia. The PS3 and Xbox 360 will get the game, as originally planned, on August 25th in North America and August 28th in Europe and Australia.
