A haunting new trailer was released just days before the August 25th retail release of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum. The trailer is creepily cool given its horror-movie elements and thematic presentation. Definitely a good way to promote the game before its release.

The new trailer is really eerie and almost acts as if it goes to a SAW or Silence of the Lambs movie. Actually, the whole dated storyline for Dr. Amadeus Arkham could have been its very own game (or movie). It would be kind of cool if Nolan used this kind of lore for the third Batman flick with Christian Bale.

Anyway, even with the trailer carrying its own memorable appeal it certainly doesn’t detract from the game’s awesome multi-tiered gameplay and awesome free-form fighting. You can check out the new trailer below or look for the game to hit retail shelves on August 25th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
