Today Warner Bros Interactive and Eidos confirmed the reports that free downloadable content was on the way for Batman: Arkham Asylum. The "Insane Night Map Pack" will be released on Thursday, September 17th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
The map pack includes two new standalone challenges for you to test your combat and stealth skills. In the ‘Totally Insane’ FreeFlow Combat map, Batman must battle increasingly difficult waves of lunatics escaping from the asylum. The ‘Nocturnal Hunter’ Invisible Predator map tasks Batman with taking out an army of Joker's heavily armed goons. The description of 'Nocturnal Hunter' mentions watch towers so it sounds like it'll take place outside.
WBIE/Eidos no doubt need to pay some sort of fee to get this downloadable content on Xbox Live and PSN. However, Arkham has sold close to two million copies since its release in late August so I doubt they're hurting for money.
