Batman: Arkham Origins Collector's Edition Announced For North America, Australia, New Zealand
Warner Bros. will be releasing a Batman: Arkham Origins Collector's Edition for North America, Australia and New Zealand. The $119.99 bundle includes a bunch of extras not seen in its UK counterpart.
The centerpiece of the bundle is a statue of Joker. He's standing behind a desk covered in money. Behind him is a wall of TV's showing the faces of Batman and the various assassins trying to kill him in Arkham Origins. I guess this means Joker will play a big role in this game, after all. The 13" x 9" statue was built by TriForce and is said to have LED effects, possibly from the televisions.
Warner Bros. included a flood of knick-knacks. A wanted poster, Batwing prototype schematic, Anarky logo stencil, Wayne family photo and Glow-in-the-dark map of Gotham City will fill any free bulletin board space you have. If you need to clutter up your coffee table, too, you'll have a dossier of 8 assassins and an artbook at your disposal. WB also threw in a casino chip and a tooth in matching evidence bags because, hey, gotta fill the box.
The North American version comes with a copy of Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics. This feature-length documentary profiles the big bads in the DC universe. It's narrated by Christopher Lee. In his decades as an actor, he's played like a thousand villains so he seems like a natural choice for the voiceover.
The included copy of Arkham Origins is accompanied by two DLC vouchers. The first is for the previously announced Deathstroke challenge maps DLC. The second unlocks a "1st Appearance" skin for Batman. This skin replicates Batman's appearance from his comic debut in Detective Comics #27 back in 1939.
The Collector's Edition is now available for pre-order through GameStop. Anyone who pre-orders through that retailer will also receive two exclusive Black Mask Challenge Maps on top of everything else.
Arkham Origins will hit the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on October 25th. GameStop only lists the Collector's Edition for the PS3 and Xbox 360, though. Considering how Wii U gamers won't even get multiplayer, it's not surprising to hear that they'll miss out on the CE as well.
