Due out this April for the Xbox 360 and PC, BattleStations: Pacific is the highly awaited sequel to the RTS tactical Navy game, BattleStations: Midway. This time around players can play out a full campaign in a “what if” scenario with the Japanese, as well as a full campaign as the Allied forces. To help give gamers a better look at the upcoming strategy game, Eidos Interactive recently released a developer’s diary detailing how the game was made to be as authentic as their budget would allow.
Allowing players to control the action from a commander’s map view as well as taking the action to the enemy in a real-time, immersive 3D perspective really made the original game a popular niche title in the RTS genre. New improvements to the gameplay mechanics come in the form of better streamlined controls and easier-to-use unit strategies. There’s also a lot more to the game than what I just mentioned, but this isn’t an official preview folks. Nevertheless, the devs give gamers some good insight into what improvements the game has received in their ultimate goal of achieving the most authentic feel possible. You can check out the video documentary below or visit the Official BattleStations: Pacific Website for more information on the game. And of course, be sure to stay finely tuned in with Blend Games for more updates, news and information on the latest gaming titles. |
