A fourth map for Battlefield 1943, "Coral Sea," will be unlocked on Xbox Live and PSN once gamers on that particular service rack up 43 million kills. Seems like a tough task, right? Maybe not.
The timer for the 43 million kill challenge began on Friday and as of Saturday afternoon, Xbox Live has 9.5 million kills and PSN has 5.6 million. The kill count will slow down after the weekend's over, sure, but the Xbox 360 version could have the new map within a week easily. If so, be sure to thank all those kids on summer vacation. "Coral Sea", as you can see from the trailer below, is all about air superiority so I hope you like dogfighting.
BF 1943 was released on July 8th for the 360 and July 9th for the PS3. It costs 1200 Microsoft Points, or $15. Stay tuned for our review.
